36.  And when she brought forth she said: My Lord! Lo! I have brought it forth a female. And Allah knew best of what she brought forth- and the male is not as the female; and lo! I have named her Mary, and lo! I crave Thy protection for her and for her offspring from Satan the outcast.

Commentary

‘Imra-‘atu  ‘Imraana – (the wife of Imran), her name was Hunnah bint e Faaquuz. She had made a vow unto Allah Almighty according to the custom of her time that, which offspring was in her belly, she would set it free in the name of Allah Almighty. It meant, “That the child will engage in the worship of Allah Almighty only and serve the Church always being free from all worldly works”. She also prayed, “O Lord! Accept it with Your kindness from me. You are the Hearer of my request, and You know my aim as You are the Knower”.

As though, that woman prayed; hinting for the birth of a son to her (offspring). But her hope did not come up and a daughter was born from her. Therefore, she said with grief, “My Lord! Lo! I have brought forth a female”. Allah Almighty commanded her that her daughter was very auspicious, she did not know that her daughter would bring forth a blessed and honorable son {Prophet Jesus Christ (peace be upon him)}.

The wife of Imran supplicated in the Court of God Almighty, “I have named her Mary, and I crave Your protection for her and for her offspring from Satan the outcast”. Allah Almighty accepted her prayer. We have learnt from this narration that, “Although each kind of badness had been grown in the children of Israel in those days, but even then some persons from them were present who used to love Allah Almighty and they used to endow their children for religious duty.

33.  Lo! Allah preferred Adam and Noah and the Family of Abraham and the Family of ‘Imran above (all His) creatures-

34.  They were descendants one of another. And Allah is Hearer, Knower.
33.  ‘Innal-laahas-tafaaa  ‘Aa-dama  wa  Nuuhanw-wa  ‘Aala-‘Ibraa-hiima  wa  ‘Aala-‘Imraana  ‘alal-‘aalamiin.

34.  Zurriy-yatam-  ba’-zuhaa  mim-ba’-z.  Wallaahu  Samii-‘un  ‘Aliim.

Commentary

‘Aala-‘Imraana – (Family of Imran), two famous persons named Imran have passed away in the history. One was father of Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) named Imran bin Baseer. The second (many centuries later) was father of Mary (razii Allaahu ‘anhaa), named Imran bin Matan, maternal grandfather of Jesus Christ (peace be upon him). Here both persons may be inferred. Most scholars and philosophers have considered here the second Imran, because there is description about him in the succeeding verses of this Surah (chapter).

‘Aa-dama – (Adam), Allah Almighty created the earth, the heavens and the entire universe with His vast Divine Power. His biggest creature is Adam (peace be upon him), who was made a collection of many spiritual and corporeal excellence. Allah Almighty ordered the Angels (peace be upon them) to prostrate unto Adam; for telling dignity of his existence to the universe. He was chosen for prophet-hood. Later on it (Prophet-hood) was given to Prophet Shiis and Noah (peace be upon them) respectively. Then it reached Messenger Abraham (peace be upon him) step by step. After Adam and Noah (peace be upon them), the people who remained in this world, they all were descendants of these two Prophets (peace be upon them). Then Allah Almighty selected Prophet Abraham and his family to bestow them the grade of Prophet-hood like Adam and Noah (peace be upon them) and the Prophets (peace be upon them), came after them, they all were from the lineage of two sons of Abraham (peace be upon him) i.e. Isaac and Ishmael (peace be upon them).

Zurriy-yatam-  ba’-zuhaa  mim-ba’-z – (They were descendants one of another), order of genealogy runs through the side of father. Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) was born without father. So it might be thought that he (peace be upon him) could not be counted from the lineage of Abraham (peace be upon him). Therefore, Allah Almighty informed by revealing the words Zurriy-yatam-  ba’-zuhaa  mim-ba’-z that these entire Prophets (peace be upon them) were descendants one of another. Because Imran, the father of Mary was from the race of Prophet Abraham (peace be upon them). Consequently, it proved that no Prophet is out of the family of Abraham (peace be upon them).

By describing Samii-‘un  ‘Aliim, it is pointed out that Allah Almighty is Hearer of the entire supplications and sayings. He knows hidden and outward circumstances of all. He is Aware of everything. He is Knower about reality and characteristics of all persons. Therefore, His selection can never be incomplete or false.

Allah does not love the disbelievers - Quran Chapter 3- 31 & 32 (Pt-3, Stg-1) (L-381) - درس قرآن

Allah does not love the disbelievers

Surah ‘Aali-‘Im-raan (The Family of ‘Imran) – Chptr – 3)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

31.  Say, (O Muhammad, to mankind): If ye love Allah, follow me; Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

32.  Say: Obey Allah and the Messenger. But if they turn away, lo! Allah loveth not the disbelievers (in His guidance).
31.  Qul  ‘in-  kuntum  tuhibbuu-nallaaha  fattabi-‘uunii  yuh-bib-kumullaahu  wa  yagfir  lakum  zunuubakum.  Wallaahu  Gafuurur-  Rahiim.

32.  Qul  ‘atii-‘ullaaha  war-Rasuul. Fa-‘in-  tawallaw  fa-‘innAllaaha laa yuhibbul-Kaafiriin.

Commentary

In the previous verses, Allah Almighty forbade from friendship with the disbelievers. Now it is being commanded that you should love Allah Almighty, but standard for love with Allah Almighty is hidden in perfect obedience and complete following up His last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him). That is to say; if you wish to see, “Who loves his/her Real Lord, then he would be examined with the proof of obedience to Muhammad, the Last Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)”. How much a person follows the steps of Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), he understands the Prophet’s brought Light (Islam) as Flambeau of the Straight Path and follows this Light, as much his/her belief will be perfect.

He will get reward of love with the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) that Allah Almighty will begin loving that person. Due to blessing of obeying the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), his previous sins will be forgiven and in future, he will deserve kindness and special attention of Allah Almighty. As though, there is no possibility of love by God Almighty for him without obeying the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him).

The children of Israel and the Christians used to say, “We are the sons and beloved of God”. Here it has been declared that the denier of Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), Prophet of Allah, cannot be His beloved. Whoever wants to become the beloved of Allah, he should follow the Sayings of Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him).

The Muslim Devotees have presented an astonishing point from it that Allah Almighty has recommended for His lovers, “If you claim that you love Me then follow My lover, Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him). Resultantly I shall become your lover and ignore your errors.” He also warned, “If you did not obey Allah Almighty and His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), then you will be counted in disbelievers and Allah does not keep the deniers friends.

Commentary

It has been described in these verses, “it is possible that a person may hide that which is in his/her heart, but he/she neither can hide anything from Allah Almighty nor can cheat Him”. Knowledge of Allah Almighty is much vast than his/her thinking, He Knows every thing in the heavens and in the earth. Even that any atom of the universe does not exist out of his Knowledge. On the Day of Resurrection, each goodness and badness of the entire persons will be before them. Character roll of the entire life will be handed over to every individual. At that time evil-doers and sinners will long for it, “would that the bad acts remained away from us in the world”. But, “It is useless to cry over spilt milk”. Allah Almighty warns by means of His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) in these words: “Abstain from the evils and be saved from those deeds which are forbidden. Do not hold dear to the Infidels”. It is Kindness of Allah Almighty that He threatens us repeatedly from that horrible Day before time, so that we may turn towards goodness; leaving the badness. It is obligatory upon us that we should consider thoughtfully these commandments of Allah Almighty, be saved from wickedness, badness and evils, be inclined towards good works, adopt the sobriety, fear always Allah Almighty and pass our lives in piety.

Commentary

It was described in the previous lesson that Allah Almighty is Able to give honor and sovereignty to whom He desires and Can snatch these things from whom He wills. Each kind of government and empire, prestige, honor and possession are in His control. Therefore, it does not suit the Muslims, who really believe in Him, if they increase friendship voluntarily or without knowledge with the disbelievers, enemies of Allah Almighty, and Infidels, leaving their Muslim brothers or considering them not enough. The enemies of Allah Almighty and His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) can never be their friends. One, who opposes it, should think about himself that he has no concern with the love of Allah Almighty. Entire hopes of a Muslim should be related only to Allah Almighty.

Three forms of good behavior are possible into the mankind:

1.   Friendship.

2.   Apparent politeness.

3.   Kindness and doing good.

Religious Scholars have explained that first form, that is to say; real friendship with the Infidels is unlawful in all conditions. Third form (Kindness and doing good) is legal only with those Infidels who would never be ready to fight against the Muslims. Second form (Apparent politeness) is legal only under three conditions:

·       For self protection

·       Trying that he should embrace Islam

·       In the form that you are a host, it means that when any Infidel comes to you as a guest.

Besides these, three forms, friendship is not allowed anyway to get personal advantage or wealth, but when there is danger that he will put obstacles in the way of religion; then also, no friendship is allowed.

Allah Almighty frightens the Muslims from His torment who keep friendship with the Infidels so that they would bear in mind that at last every person will have to go back towards Him. He will reward or punish in accord with everyone’s deeds and it will not be possible to be saved from His grasp.

Quran Chapter 3- 27 (Pt-3, Stg-1) (L-378) - درس قرآن

The Provider of the sustenance

Surah ‘Aali-‘Im-raan (The Family of ‘Imran) – Chptr – 3)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

27.  Thou causest  the night to pass into the day, and Thou causest the day to pass into the night. And Thou bringest forth the living from the dead, and Thou bringest forth the dead from the living, and Thou givest sustenance to whom Thou choosest, without stint.
27.  Tuulijul-layla  fin-nahaari  wa  tuulijun-nahaara  fil-layl.  Wa  tukhrijul-hayya  minal-mayyiti  wa  tukhrijul-mayyita  minal-hayyi  wa  tarzuqu  man-  tashaaa-‘u  bi-gayri  hisaab.

Commentary

This verse is also common with the previous in meanings and comprehension. Allah Almighty described about His Power and discretion in the previous verse that He is able to do all things. He gives honor, glory and government to whom He wills, and lets fall in disgrace and baseness to whom He wishes. He has repeated in the present verse too the reality that each type of change and possession in the world depends upon His pleasure. He causes the night to pass into the day, and the day to pass into the night and He changes the weathers i.e. winter, spring, summer and autumn.

Sometime He decreases the night, increases the day and then increases night, and decreases the day. For example, the day becomes of fourteen hours and the night of ten hours (in summer), and after some period the day becomes of ten hours and the night of fourteen hours (in winter). These all changes are in His Power. The moon, the sun and the stars cannot move a little without His consent and plan.

Besides increasing and decreasing of the days and the nights, He brings forth the living from the dead, and the dead from the living. First example is likewise to bear the bird from an egg and living child from the seminal fluid of male and female, and second example is likewise egg from the animal and the seminal liquid from men and women. He produces a learned person from the illiterate and a complete person from the unsound.

The children of Israel used to consider that the nobleness and superiority, which they had, would remain forever. They should know that Allah Almighty is Able to give honor and sovereignty to whom He wishes and Can snatch these things from whom He wills. If He desires to grow any perfect person among the ignorant, He is Able to do so, as He produced the Last Messenger Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) among the ignorant of Arab. The treasures of provision are also under His control. He bestows countless and immoderate (wealth) to whom He wishes. The humankind cannot count His distinguishing, favors and honors.

26.  Say: O Allah! Owner of Sovereignty! Thou givest sovereignty unto whom Thou wilt, and Thou withdrawest sovereignty from whom Thou wilt. Thou exaltest whom Thou wilt, and Thou abasest whom Thou wilt. In Thy hand is the good. Lo! Thou art Able to do all things.
26.  Qulillaa-humma  Maalikal-Mulki    tu’-til-Mulka  man-tashaaa-‘u  wa  tanzi-‘ul-Mulka  miman-tashaaa’.  Wa  tu-‘izzu  man-  tashaaa-‘u  wa  tuzillu  man-tashaaa’.  Bi-yadi-kal-Khayer.  ‘Innaka  ‘alaa  kulli  shay-‘in-Qadiir.

Commentary

Maalikal-Mulki – (Owner of Sovereignty), Allah Almighty has described about this virtue of His Ownership particularly for the purpose so that the human being should perceive about His Powers and Strength. The humankind should not forget the Real Owner (Allah Almighty) in the intoxication of his temporary and transitory worldly power, influence and dignity. So that four days’ moving shadow may not make him careless from the commands of Supreme Commander (Allah Almighty).

This verse of Holy Qur’an has a specific Peculiarity. That is, “there is description about Perfect Power of Allah Almighty and utmost limit of inability and helplessness of the human being in the manner that nobody can deny”. It is the reason that our Muslim devotees use to tell their followers about this verse for repeating it as daily worship.

If there is need to mention this verse in connection with the Christians’ body of delegates from Najraan (Syria), then we shall relate it as, “O Christian Scholars! You are proud of the honor and sovereignty of the kings, understand it well that entire sovereign of the entire world and the Owner of the Dignity is Allah Almighty. Every thing is in His Hand. He gives to whom He wills and withdraws from whom He wishes. Allah Almighty has shown practical demonstration of this reality to the entire world, while He made owner of the treasures of Roman and Persian sovereignty to an inferior and poor group (of newly Muslims). Then what is the worldly kingdom and honor?

Allah Almighty transferred last place of spiritual sovereignty and honor i.e. Prophet-hood from the Children of Israel to the Children of Ishmael. The words of this verse are taught to the Muslims in the form of supplication. And it explained that the persons who were poor, they would become owners of the sovereignty due to their faith, and who were kings, they would fall in disgrace due to their bad acts. The good (of all kinds) is In the Hand of Allah Almighty. He is Able to do all things.

Every soul will be paid in full what it earned - Quran Chapter 3- 25 (Pt-3, Stg-1) (L-376) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 3- 25 (Pt-3, Stg-1) (L-376) - درس قرآن

Every soul will be paid in full what it earned

Surah ‘Aali-‘Im-raan (The Family of ‘Imran) – Chptr – 3)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

25.  How (will it be with them) when We have brought them all together to a Day of which there is no doubt, when every soul will be paid in full what it hath earned, and they will not be wronged.
25.  Fa-kayfa  ‘izaa  jama’-naahum  li-Yawmil-laa  rayba  fiih.  Wa  wuffi-yat  kullu  nafsim-maa  kasabat  wa  hum laa  yuzlamuun.

Commentary

With effect from the beginning of this Surah, the learned persons of the Scripture are being addressed. Particularly the Christians are being invited towards the Last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and His True Book (Holy Qur’aan) again and again. But their behavior remained always to falsify every true and pious person and opposed them. They reached such extent that they massacred the Prophets of Allah Almighty (peace be upon them).

On the other hand, the extent of their faith’s feebleness is that they consider themselves as much innocent that the Fire of Hell will not touch them. And if they are thrown even in to the Hell, they will remain there only for a few days. It is their personal doubt. This matter does not have any relation with the reality. How can a person be saved from punishment, who has committed any sin or evil?

Allah Almighty has drawn their attention towards the Day of Resurrection and Its horrible results in this verse. He Commands, “Why are you forgetting that particular Day, when the entire mankind will be gathered? How can be any doubt about the situation of that Day? Besides the Holy Qur’aan, this belief also comprises in the parts of all religions.

On the Doomsday, every person will get full retaliation of his/her deeds. It has been revealed in the Holy Qur’aan, “Famany-ya’-mal  misqaala  zar-ratin-  khayrany-yarah.  Wa many-ya’-mal  misqaala  zar-ratin-  sharrany-yarah”.  (And whoso doeth good an atom’s weight will see it then. And whoso doeth ill an atom’s weight will see it then). Nobody can escape from the results of deeds/actions.

Last sentence of the verse is “wa  hum laa  yuzlamuun” (and they will not be wronged). Each atom will be reckoned and result of most ordinary work will be in front. If the humankind remembered it, he would never think about the sin/evil.

Commentary

It has been described in these verses that when they are invited to come towards Holy Qur’aan, which has been revealed according to the mentioned good news in their Holy Scriptures and It has correct decision power of their contradictions and differences. Then some of their religious scholars turn away, whereas invitation towards Holy Qur’aan is actually the invitation towards Torah and Gospel.

These people turn their faces from the guidance and orders of their own Scripture and make changes in to them in accord with their wishes. Neither they care for the good news revealed in the Scriptures and nor believe in the predictions mentioned there.

Then it was described that the reason of their too much strong desire towards evils and sins is that they are entirely fearless from the punishment which will be given by Allah Almighty. They have invented at their own different types of precepts and doctrines. Out of them, one thought is that at first, they would never be punished, and if they were punished, that would be only for a few days. Christians had made another false doctrine crossing all others. That is to say: Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) has already been punished against all sinners and evil-doers. {Allah Almighty preserve us from this type of thinking, because He (Allah Almighty) is not unjust that the sinners are saved but the innocent punished}.
