22.  Khaa-lidiina  fiihaaa  ‘abadaa.  ‘InnAllaaha  ‘indahuuu  ‘ajrun  ‘aziim.

Commentary

It is commanded: Those people, who believed in God Almighty, left their homes for His Cause and strove with their wealth and lives in His Way; are much greater worth in the sight of Allah Almighty. Success and triumph of the both worlds (this world and the Hereafter) has been written for such people. Their Lord gives them good tidings that He will be pleased and Merciful on them, and will send them into the Gardens of the Paradise; where they will live for ever. Ease, comfort and pleasure, delicacy and blessing of that place will never end, and they will dwell there without any further fear of death, confusion or distress.

Bear in mind! The individual, who works for the Sake of God Almighty, He gives him much greater reward. There is no shortage of anything for him who is present for His obedience with his wealth and life. If any person understands these exhilarating and joyful matters, he begins to bounce around with pleasure.

Believe me! The best songs, lyric poems and sounds of various musical instruments are totally useless before such people. It is the enrapturing secret, by which being slow, the sensible people trampled all fields, forests, rivers and seas, and conquered the world with such intoxicated slogans as “Allaahu Akbar” (God is the Greatest). These are such spiritual words which made the beggars king-makers, not only kings. The world fell on their feet, but they threw it away by kicking, and reached every moment from lowness to the height and house to houseless; going at full speed. Is there any attraction into them today for us?

Allah guides not wrongdoing folk

Chapter Tawbah (Repentance) – Surah – 9)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

19.  Count ye the slaking of a pilgrim’s thirst and tendance of the Inviolable Place of Worship as (equal to the worth of) him who believeth in Allah and the Last Day, and striveth in the Way of Allah? They are not equal in the sight of Allah. And Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.
19.  ‘A-ja-‘altum  siqaa-yatal-Haaajji  wa  ‘imaaratal-Masjidil-Haraami  Kaman  ‘aamana  BIllaahi  wal-Yawmil-‘Aakhiri  wa jaahada  fii  Sabii-LIllaah.  Laa  yasta-wuuna  ‘indAllaah.  WAllaahu  laa  yahdil-qawmaz-zaalimiin.

Commentary

Siqaa-yatun – (to slake, to quench), this word has the same meaning as of the saq-yun. However, here it aims also “the place; where the water is slaked, as well as that utensil is siqaa-yatun too, with which someone is slaked, for example “a cup, glass or bowl etc”. Siqaa-yatun is such vessel or a little pond; in which the water is deposited for miscellaneous use. It is called siqaa-watun also.

‘Imaarata – (to people, to colonize, making arrangements for the pilgtims), here it aims “to support and keep up apparent cheer”.

The Pagans were proud that they used to perform the hospitality of such people who come to Makkah for pilgrimage, provide them food and water, take care of their ease and comfort. For such places, there is a need of such matters, so that those people, who come to visit the sacred places, may stay with comfort, and the gaiety and merriment should increase.

It has been described in this verse that the actual works which are required to be performed, are some different from them, whichever they do. Those people are better than these, who consider that only outward hustle bustle, pomp and show are everything.

The actual works are “The man should believe in Allah Almighty and the Day of Resurrection; on which account of every individual’s actions shall be taken. After believing in God Almighty and the Last Day, now it is duty of every human being that he/she should try and strive with own soul and wealth; in the Way of Allah Almighty; and continue to do so during entire life time.

Those people who slake the thirsty pilgrims and arrange to colonize them in the vicinity of the Inviolable Place of Worship (Masjidil-Haraam), and those people who believe in God Almighty and the Last Day, and endow their entire life for the Cause of Allah Almighty, these both kinds of people cannot be equal.

Those; who consider them equal; have been tyrannizing themselves; as well as; other creature of Allaah. Allah Almighty does neither cause to know the Right Matter to the tyrants and nor show them the Straight Path. Those people should learn a lesson from this verse, who spend their time and money on outward decoration of Sanctuaries (Masaajid).

18.  He only shall tend Allah’s sanctuaries who believeth in Allah and the Last Day and observeth proper Worship and payeth the Poor-due and feareth none save Allah; for such (only) is it possible that they can be of the rightly guided.
18.  ‘Inna-maa  ya’-muru  masaaji-dAllaahi  man  ‘aamana  Billaahi  wal- Yawmil-‘Aakhiri  wa  ‘aqaamas-Salaata  wa  ‘aataz-Zakaata  wa lam  yakhsha  ‘illAllaah.  Fa-‘asaaa  ‘ulaaa-‘ika  ‘any-yakuunuu  minal-  Muhtadiin.

Commentary

It is commanded: What is the plea that the idolaters have taken possession of Masjidil-Haraam (The Inviolable Place of Worship)? It was result of their possession at that time that hundreds of idols were decorated in the Square Building of Makkah and those were being adorned one after the other, whereas, Masjid is constructed for the worship of God Almighty only.

Therefore, as per rule, the trustee and guardian of the Masjid (Mosque) can be only that individual who accepts and believes in Allah Almighty, and follows those prescribed instructions of His worship; which He has revealed upon His Chosen Servants (peace be upon them). Along with it, that person should also have certain faith in the Day of Resurrection, offer the prayer according to prescribed method, spend his wealth in the Way of God Almighty in accordance with the Revelation (pay the Poor-due @ 2-1/2% of his wealth yearly and regularly) and fear none except God Almighty.

The idolaters have turned away from God (Allah) Almighty and gone astray from the Straight Path. Now there is no chance of their returning unto the Right Path. What will they do save it that they will damage the Masjid? However, those people whose characteristics have been explained above, that is to say; Believers of Allah Almighty and the Last Day, observers of the worship properly and regularly, payers of the poor-due and those who fear God only. These are the people who may be hopeful of being on the Straight Path and it can be expected from them that they will keep the Masaajid (Mosques) habitable and populous regularly and right way.

The people of every religion build places of worship. But how can it be correct that which place has been constructed for the worship of God, someone else, who is not worshipper of God but idolater, seizes it? They are allowed to worship, of whom they desire, in their places of worship, but the place which has been chosen for the worship of God Almighty, their seizure of such place is not permissible in any condition, otherwise real purpose of it is lost.

We should look into ourselves and think that whether; are we able to be claimants of Masaajid according to this verse or otherwise? Whether our quarrels are not for personal respect and unreligious purposes only?

The Fire as a permanent Abode - Quran Chapter 9 – 17 (Pt-10, Stg-2) (L-1154) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 9 – 17 (Pt-10, Stg-2) (L-1154) - درس قرآن

The Fire as a permanent Abode

Chapter Tawbah (Repentance) – Surah – 9)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

17.  It is not for the idolaters to tend Allah’s sanctuaries, bearing witness against themselves of disbelief. As for such, their works are vain and in the Fire they will abide for ever.
17.  Maa  kaana  lil-Mush-rikiina  ‘any-ya’-muruu  masaaji-dAllaahi  shaahi-diina  ‘alaaa  ‘an-fu-sihim-  bil-kufr.  ‘Ulaaa-‘ika  habitat-  ‘a’-maaluhum.  Wa  fin-Naari  hum  khaali-duun.

Commentary

‘Any-ya’-muruu – (they settle), the origin of this word is ‘imaaratun and ‘umuraanun, which means “to make a place habitable and populous”. It also aims “to build a house”. Both meanings can be used for the word ta’-miir, which has been derived from the same word.

Habitat – (are wasted), this word has been derived from habata, which means “in vain, to be damaged, to be of no avail”.

It has been described in this verse that the idolaters of Makkah, who had possessed the Square Building and the Inviolable Place of Worship around it, they were not able to look after and protect Masjidil-Haraam. They have become Its guards for the object that they wanted their awe and influence in the Arab because the people of Arab used to respect the Square Building and the Inviolable Place of Worship at Makkah. It was the reason that they used to deal the guardians of this place with great respect.

It is commanded that the idolaters do not have any right to be guardians and protectors of the places of worship. Masjidil-Haraam has been constructed in Makkah on the name of Allah Almighty. But they have made it an idol-temple (erected many idols everywhere in the Inviolable Place of Worship), officiate here as priests and live upon the offerings made to the idols, whereas, the Mosques (Masaajid) are built only for the worship of Allah Almighty, one God. Those people who establish the tradition of the worship of idols in the places of God’s worship, they have been saying the people openly: We disbelieve in one God. Their deeds have been giving evidence of their infidelity.

Masjid should be used only for the pure worship of Allah Almighty and everyone should bow and prostrate before Him into It. It is totally unbecoming act that a place has been specified for the worship of God Almighty, and after some period the idolaters get possession of such place. They will gain no fruit whether they serve as much as they may, look after and be guardians of Masaajid (Mosques), because when actual demand is not fulfilled from the Masjid; then it is not useful to look after such kind of Masjid. It is the reason that their entire services are useless. They will burn continuously in the Fire of Hell for ever due to their infidelity.

Duty of the last Messenger - Quran Chapter 9 – 16 (Pt-10, Stg-2) (L-1153) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 9 – 16 (Pt-10, Stg-2) (L-1153) - درس قرآن

Duty of the last Messenger

Chapter Tawbah (Repentance) – Surah – 9)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

Which verse; we recited in the previous lesson, that is a treasure of invaluable information for the Muslims, a key to success and such strategy and program; which can be acquired only by some fortunate people, after deep study of many valuable books. To build a bridge over the sea is the work of Holy Qur-‘aan only.

Its background is the land of Arab, centre of which is Makkah. The people, who are inhabitants of this place, have some internal qualities, which have been compressed by misunderstandings and absurd traditions and customs. The Creator (of the world and whatever exists in it,) desired to raise this nation so much high that it should be a pattern for the entire human beings.

For this purpose, God Almighty arranged a plan that He created such a perfect mankind from the people of this place, Who was an example for them in the field of personal deeds. The people of Arab saw, observed and examined Him {Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)}. Wise people from the Arab nation were attracted by Him and they noticed at a glance that “This Man is Perfect and the deliverance of mankind is in His obedience”.

Subsequently, Preserver of the worlds (God Almighty) sent down His Word on Him (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) and into It He assured Him: Indeed You are going on the Right Path. Now it is Your duty that you should invite those people, who are around you, toward the same Path. We have appointed You Our Prophet and Messenger unto the people. Believe in it and produce before the people fearless and unhesitatingly – fixing the signs and destinations of this Way by means of Your deeds and sayings.

God’s Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) assumed His duty and began to manifest the signs of the way. What was required to be understood, that was understood already by the wise people. Then they decided wholeheartedly to act upon His Instructions. Unfortunately, some people who were entangled in the embarrassment of greed, carnal desires and lust, began to oppose Him (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) and His followers.

In the beginning, they were caused to understand and given opportunity that they should not oppose the invitation, and let the people set free for accepting it. Method of living together is obvious; we cause to know it more clearly. Its summary is that “Mutual cooperation in necessities of life, fully abstinence from a breach of the peace, and provide opportunity without let or hindrance for satisfying every individual, whether he is close or otherwise.

They did not accept this advice. Finally, the Muslims were commanded: Be separate from them. Fight them without hesitation; who breach the peace because they are enemies of the humanity. Engage yourselves always in the works of welfare and trying to do good with all the people. Make no relationship heartily with any other than good people and well-wishers. Make your secret-keeper only him whose inner and outer aspects are clear and accurate.

You were commanded to tolerate and bear till now. Purpose of it was to prepare you for the field of life. Now your struggle and attempts will be examined and it is required to be known: How much sincerity have you in your hearts for Allah Almighty, His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) and your venture-some friends and how far you pay the right of their friendship?

War among the wicked people and you will always continue, and you will be examined in this field until death. If you came out with credit in this examination, then you will be blessed with happiness and well-being in the both worlds.

Do what you think proper and don’t be afraid - Quran Chapter 9 – 16 (Pt-10, Stg-2) (L-1152) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 9 – 16 (Pt-10, Stg-2) (L-1152) - درس قرآن

Do what you think proper and don’t be afraid

Chapter Tawbah (Repentance) – Surah – 9)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

16.  Or deemed ye that ye would be left (in peace) when Allah yet knoweth not those of you who strive, choosing for familiar none save Allah and His Messenger and the Believers? And Allah is Aware of what ye do.
16.  ‘Am  hasib-tum  ‘an  tutrakuu  wa  lammaa  ya’-laMIllaahul-laziina  Jaahaduu  min-kum  wa  lam  yatta-khizuu  min-  duu-NIllaahi  wa  laa  RasuuliHii  wa  lal-Mu’-miniina  waliijah.  WAllaahu  Khabiirum-bimaa  ta’-maluun.

Commentary

Waliijatan – (the familiar), grammatically it is an adjective from the word walaja, origin of which is wuluujun. Wuluujun means “to enter”. Waliijatun means “such close friend who interferes in internal and private matters. There is a word bataanatun of the same meaning, which was discussed in Surah ‘Aali-‘Imraan. This word can be used for single as well as for the plural.

It has been known from the previous verses that in the Peace Treaty of Hudaybiah, it was last attempt to teach the idolaters of Makkah regarding living together, despite having difference of Beliefs. They opposed the Treaty and it became known that their haughtiness and obstinacy will not let them live together with anyone else.

After that, due to breaking the terms of treaty, the Muslims attacked over the idolaters of Makkah and it was conquered. Then it was commanded: It is learned from the experience that these wicked idolaters have devised strongly that they would never live with you together. Therefore you should separate your organization and remove them out from the Arab, so that they may know the result of fighting own people. And then you should adopt such behavior that the world should admit you as flag-holders of goodness and peace, and those who are mischievous and rebellious; they should tremble with fear by hearing your name.

The Muslims have been caused to understand in this verse that the world is a place of striving. No individual or group can thrive here without trying and striving. That will find fruit of his attempt who will strive. Do you think that by sitting idle; you can set the path of development? God Almighty has prescribed this rule in the world that every group and individual will be examined by its deeds and actions.

The patience is a good thing itself, but that does not provide any ground for improvement, that is a source and respite for thinking, understanding and establishing a way. Impatient person makes haste at the time of calamity and sometimes is killed. Whereas, that individual, who has patience, thinks before performing that “what should I do to remove this disaster?” And he succeeds in his mission. You will not be left free, but your effort, sympathy and amity will be examined by setting you alight in the practical field.
