Muslims
should be well-wishers of entire human beings
Surah
MAAA-‘IDAH (The
Table Spread) – Chapter – 5)
‘A-‘uu-zu
Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)
Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)
Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)
In the beginning of Islam, when
it was coming into existence in its original form before the people of the
world, different nations, which were dwelling in the Arab, went all of them
against It. The only reason of their enmity was that Islam desired to make and
keep the entire human beings equal brothers of one another. But those people
had formed a habit that they would have to keep themselves in power and all
other people should live under their control, because every group and nation
wished its own greatness. So they had all evils into themselves like quarrels,
evil-living, beating and looting one another, and they were happy in this
condition. Islam wanted to establish the way of peace, safety and well-being,
and tried to bar them from those miserable affairs. They had considered that if
it would be so, then there would be no chance for anyone of them to set up
their chief-ship in future. Therefore, they all were drawn up in a battle array
to ruin Islam and could not understand that by doing so, they were preparing
field for choking one another forever.
The Muslims have been
acquainted with this danger in the verse, we recited in the previous lesson
that the Jews and the Christians have been involved as such in the selfishness,
as other disbelievers. It was told in Surah ‘Aali- ‘Imraan openly,
“Let not the believers take disbelievers for their friends in preference to
believers”, they are selfish, and the selfish person cannot be a friend of
anyone. Because the Jews and the Christians are also like them, so it has been
declared here that hope of friendship with them is useless. A well-wisher for
himself only and a well-wisher for the entire humanity cannot be friends and
well-wishers of each other.
It has been described, O
Muslims! You should not seek friendship of the Jews and the Christians. They
have bent upon casual friendship among themselves mutually and with other
infidels. They cannot be your friends, this mutual friendship of theirs and
association with the infidels is until their selfishness permits them. You
should not be their comrades, because whosoever will be their friend and
associate, will become like them. The reason is that you are morally at a
higher stage than them, because you are well-wishers of all, and they are in a
lower field than you because their slogan is selfishness, and it is clear that
letting someone fall from height to down is easier than lifting someone from
depth to height. Therefore, if you met them cordially, they would cause to fail
you easily and make you selfish, and you would not be able to elevate and make
them well-wishers equally for all. So, you should understand! If anyone of you
took them for friend, would become like them.
Then it has been commanded,
“Think not that you will make them as you are by meeting them, because Allah
Almighty does not guide the tyrants unto the Straight Path. They are cruel
because they see nothing except their own gain, and it is the main cause of
quarrel in the world, if everybody keeps own advantage in front and suppress
others for this purpose, it is called tyranny”.
The world knows nowadays that
these people are ready to ruin the world for keeping their affairs up and they
are happy because of having Atom Bombs etc. They are glad that none can rebel
against them. It is ‘the End’ of the selfishness and it has reached such limit
due to the only reason that the Muslims have also been entangled in the paw of
selfishness. Now they are looking also towards them for getting worldly
benefits being helpless, from whom they were warned to be careful.
