BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

4a.  Thee (alone) we worship.
4a.  ‘IyyaaKa na’-budu.

Lesson

We learnt four epithets of God Almighty in the previous lessons:
He is LORD of the worlds. Everything of the earth and the skies gets its improvement with God’s Support. He fulfills the necessities of every creature. He is the Beneficent immensely. He resolves the problems of every person with His Kindness. He removes the difficulties of all kinds.

He is the Merciful too. The person, who acts upon His commands and obeys the Instructions delivered by Him, gets good retribution and after death, he will be able to find place under the shade of His Kindness. He is Owner of the Hour of the Judgment too. He produces the results of our deeds in this world and gives retaliation for them. And on the Day of Resurrection, He will remit the remuneration (rewards for good acts and punishment against the evil deeds) also.

Allah Almighty has described the people about their duty after expressing His epithets that they should obey and worship the only one GOD, remember Him, day and night, sleeping and waking, sitting and standing, call Him every time, complain Him at the time of calamity because He is Redresser of grievances, be grateful to Him during the pleasure and ease hours, worship only Him leaving the entire liar gods.

Worship means devotion, respect, honor, extreme humility and obedience, which are practiced for God Almighty. As though, the mankind should continue worshiping of Allah Almighty during his every movement. Islam explains that worship doesn’t mean only devotion and prayer. Besides the compliment and devotion in worship, the perfect obedience is also required and included with it compulsorily. Main aim is that the human being should perform according to the commands and instructions of Allah Almighty and should not commit against His Will in any matter.

“Thee (alone) we worship and Thee (alone) we shall obey in future”. We admit that we shall never ascribe any partner with Him to anyone else in this matter.

All mankind are children of Prophet Adam (peace be upon Him). Who has the power to be called himself “God” and compel any other to worship him? Or how can it be lawful for the mankind that he obey someone else save God Almighty or live according to his own will? We all are obedient of one God “Allah”. We are not ready to obey any other opposing the commands and instructions of God Almighty.
