Surah ‘Aali-‘Im-raan (The Family of ‘Imran) – Chptr – 3)

(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Commentary

The peculiarities of the righteous group from the People of the Scripture are being described. Their three virtues were stated in the first verse, that is to say; they are on the straight path, recite the Revelations of Allah Almighty in the hours of night and they fall prostrate before Allah Almighty. Now their some more peculiarities have been mentioned.

They have faith in Allah Almighty and the Last Day wholeheartedly, fear from the Day of Judgment and want to precede from others by running fast when they are called for any good work. Moreover, they wish also to bring others towards the right path. No doubt, these are the People from the Jews, to whom Allah Almighty bestowed fortune of good disposition and special part of the guidance.

It has been cleared from the verse that although different types of evils had been produced into the Jews, despite reciting the glad tidings about the Last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) in their Holy and Heavenly Books, they remained firm upon the denial. Even then, there were such People present among them, who succeeded in recognizing the Truth by leaving the stubbornness and spite. It rained such blessings of Allah Almighty upon those People. Other Jews who used to deny the True Religion to keep up their false dignity, their end would be very bad.

So it is evident that he/she gets the Divine guidance, who leaves the stubbornness, recites the Revelations of Allah Almighty, also falls prostrate before Him at night, believes in Oneness of God Almighty and the Day of Resurrection, abstains from the evils and runs towards the good deeds. Such People will get meed from Allah Almighty. He knows the pious People very well. Therefore, whenever the evils of the Jews are discussed, then these types of sober and abstinent persons are exempted.
