Commentary

The Holy Qur’aan is the Last Scripture out of those Scriptures which were revealed from Allah Almighty unto His servants. At the time of Its alighting, the Jews were also existing, who had Torah, revealed before It, and the Christians were present too, who had Gospel. It is fact that these people used to know the Messenger of Allah Almighty, Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) very well that He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) is the Last Prophet, for Whom Abraham (peace be upon Him) prayed and about whom Jesus (peace be upon Him) conveyed good news. But thoughts of a little worldly gains and lust of animal like desires made them blind and they got ready to oppose it. In their imitation, the Ignorant and illiterate Arabian also were faster going in the enmity of Islam.

The Jews and the Christians were told in the previous verses that it was better for them to believe in this Last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) and His Scripture i.e. Holy Qur’aan. They are going to err if do not believe in Them. Whereas, they lay but to stake upon their obstinacy that they were the accepted servants of Allah Almighty, they cannot be punished. This conception of theirs has been falsified very strongly and described clearly about the dependence of the deliverance.

Allah Almighty has admonished that though anyone say oneself a Muslim, a Jew, a Christian or a Saabii etc., however, that is a mankind. There is only one way of deliverance from troubles, pains and calamities that they should accept God (Allah Almighty) as He is, believe in Him, know for the certainty of the Day of Resurrection and do good works. Such person will be delivered from fear, grief and pain forever. It is clear that the person, who believes in Allah Almighty, is impossible for him/her not to believe in His Last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him).

So, it is the condition of freedom, “Believe in Allah Almighty, His all Messengers, Prophets and Angels (peace be upon Them), the Day of Resurrection, and do good works”. There shall no fear come upon such persons neither shall they grieve.

“Amal se zindgi banti hay Jannat bhi Jahannam bhi
Yeh khaaki apni fitrat mein nah noori hay nah naari”

(Life can be made good (Paradise) or bad (Hell) by the deeds. This earthly (mankind) is neither Angelus nor fiery in his nature)
