Chapter Tawbah (Repentance)
– Surah – 9)
‘A-‘uu-zu Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)
Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)
Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)
What would have been happened
on the hearts of true lovers of Islam; when they would have heard this verse
and the verses coming forth? They can understand well; who think about those
circumstances. They bowed down their heads on the decision of God Almighty and
His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), did not care for
tiredness and severe hot season, and engaged in preparation of the Battle
pleasantly.
In the history of Islam, this
situation was very critical. If the commands of the Great Guide (grace, glory,
blessings and peace be upon Him) would not have been obeyed timely and properly
at that time, then the humanity would have been ruined and today; its sign
would not have been found. Those venture-some people understood the gravity of
the time and came forth being tough at the time of terror to save the Muslim
nation.
Not only were the Muslims saved
from destruction by their courage but in fact, putting the human life on the
Right Path in the world; was because of them. Think for a while about those
difficulties which were being faced by the Muslims. Besides natural idleness,
there were a lot of hindrances in the way of so much long journey, but these
brave soldiers stood face to face before all resistances, and determined to
reach the boundary of Syria from Madinah with enthusiasm and
diligently; for prevention from destruction, and after arriving at the border,
they performed their duty. The biggest difficulty was the same which happens
usually at such times, that is to say; they did neither have provisions and goods
for the journey and nor war equipment. For this purpose, they sacrificed their
wealth with open hearts.
Abu Bakr Siddique (May
God be pleased with him) picked all things of his house and put up before the
Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), nothing was left
behind at home by him. Umar Farooq (May God be pleased with
him) brought half of his total wealth and considered: Today I would have done
more than Abu Bakr Siddique (May God be pleased with him). But
when he saw that he has brought his entire things, then cried out: It is
impossible to win from him in the religious services.
Othman (May God be pleased with
him) brought a lot of goods and accumulated at a place. It is said that three
hundred camels load with grains and provisions plus one thousand Dinars were
produced by him for expenditure of the Islamic Army and he received “Bravo”
from the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon
Him).
But the hypocrites, the leader
of whom was Abdullah bin Ubaii, did not participate in this Battle.
Moreover, before the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)
and after the departure of Army, they committed mischief unreasonable. Three
sincere Muslims could also not participate in this Battle. Their mention will
be discussed in the next verses.
Example of these sacrifices
cannot be found anywhere in the world history. Fair non-Muslims praised them
also, and it is said: Truly, there is no instance of the Companions (May God be
pleased with them) of Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)
in the world. They themselves are their instance.
