Lesson
Yakhtafu – {Snatch away, take (the sight) suddenly away}.
Here it means ‘being dazzled of the eyes’ that is to say; prevalence, power and
magnificence of Islam are sufficient to dazzle their eyes and inspire with awe
over their hearts.
Condition of the second
kind of Hypocrites has been discussed in this verse with more explanation and
detail. In the previous verse, instance of ‘the rain’ was given to disclose
their nature that they pounce towards their benefits. But if they would have to
do some labor or bear some loss then they get rid of the situation.
The rain becomes cause
of many advantages for the mankind. But when they look thunder-bolt of clouds and
glare of lightening in it, then they cram their fingers into their ears and try
to be saved from it and deny totally from the advantages of the the rain. They
do not understand that if someone has to sacrifice something or he has to suffer
from some trial for the cause of betterment and prosperity, he should not fear
from it.
When the Hypocrites
observe that Islam is succeeding and getting victories; their feet begin to move
towards Islam. Actually their hearts do not want to search the truth. Only due
to fear and glory of Islam, they incline towards it. And when they observe that
the Muslims have been suffering from difficulties and trials; then they go in
the state of stopping suddenly because of refusal and uncertainty. And their
feet stop moving towards Islam. As though, like the lightening of the clouds,
when the Light of Islam is manifested on them, they embrace Islam, continue standing
and sitting with the Muslims, and declare that they are believers. But as soon
as, there is darkness, that is to say; they begin to suffer from difficulties
and calamities, then they leave their companionship, and return back to the infidelity.
From it, this fact is
obvious that comfort and calamity exist collectively always. If we sacrifice
our lives, wealth and children in the Way of Allah Almighty; then surely; the
success and the betterment will be our fate as the retribution of the sacrifice.
This behavior is incorrect at all that we run behind our advantages, but when
the time of trial comes, we keep ourselves back. Allah Almighty does not like
this.
