Lesson – 48 Effect and result of similitude

Lesson – 48

 Effect and result of similitude

Surah ‘Al-‘Baqarah (The Cow) – Chapter – 2)
Stage – 1, Verse – 26a of 286, Section – 3 of 40 (Part - 1)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

26b.  Those who believe know that it is the truth from their Lord; and those who disbelieve say: What doth Allah wish (to teach) by such a similitude?
26b.  Fa-‘ammallaziina ‘aamanuu fa-ya’-lamuuna ‘annahul-Haqqu mir-Rabbihim. Wa ‘ammal-laziina kafaruu fayaquuluuna maazaaa-’araa-dAllaahu bihaa-zaa masa-laa.

Lesson

For causing to understand the people, Allah Almighty describes the people by giving resemblances. The aim of these similitude is that the people should understand the Commands of God Almighty clearly, not that they should begin absurd reasoning and contradiction.

It has been explained in this lesson that the Believers take this example as true and proper explainer and consider it right from God. But the Infidels begin to deride on these examples and they ask as satire that what God Almighty means by giving these kinds of resemblances?

The Believers have full faith in it that God Almighty is Worshipped and Muhammad (SallAllaahu alayHi wa AaliHii Wasallam) is His True Messenger. They consider it their first duty to obey the Commands of God Almighty and His Messenger (SallAllaahu alayHi wa AaliHii Wasallam), and act upon them. They believe in Their Sayings with true heart. Therefore, if God Almighty mentions any similitude, they try to understand its true object. They don’t care that the similitude is of what sort itself? Whether is it customary or have some importance? Whether any superior thing has been described in it or inferior? Moreover, they think about its true purpose and learn from it.

The Infidels deny Allah Almighty and disbelieve in His Prophet (SallAllaahu alayHi wa AaliHii Wasallam). They don’t have any interest to find the Just. They just keep watching the secrets in the verses; either to find out faults or criticize unnecessarily. So, whenever Allah Almighty describes any likeness for their consideration, then in spite of trying to understand its true meanings, they begin to raise unreasonable questions regarding it and ask from the Believers as satire: What does God desire by giving such kind of similitude?

In this verse, there is a lesson that the Believers and the people who have good moral character are those; who think about the similitude; explained by Allah Almighty, try to understand it and give up irregular debate.
